EFT Tapping Points

This page shows you the tapping points, how to tap and a script to follow to tap on your own.

Karate Chop Point (KC)

You tap here for 3 set up rounds. The finger tips of one hand tap on the outside of the other hand on the side where the little finger is on the side of the hand. You can tap left hand to right or right hand to left. You can also switch hands.

Top of The Head (TH)

Use all your fingertips tapping at the crown of your head for several seconds and at least through the first round of verbal cues. You can use either the left or the right hand. You can also switch hands as you go through the rounds.

Eyebrow point (EB)

Using 2 or 3 fingers, tap lightly on the top of the bridge of your nose at the end of each eyebrow. You can tap on both eyebrow points, or one or the other. You can tap with either right or left hand, and can also switch hands as you go through the rounds.

Side of the Eye (SE)

Using 2 or 3 fingers tap lightly on the side of each eye. You can tap on both sides or one or the other. You can tap with either right or left hand, and can also switch hands as you go through the rounds.

Under the Nose (UN)

Using 2 or 3 fingers tapp lightly in the space under your nose and above your upper lip.

Chin Point (CH)

Using 3 or 4 fingertips, tap lightly on the indent below your lip and above your chin point.

Collar Bone Point (CB)

Although we call this the collar bone point, you are not actually tapping on your collar bone. Place your fingers just below your Adam's apple in the indent. Then slide the down about an inch. Slide your hands over each side about 2 or 3 inches jin a soft spot just below your clavicle. You can use both hands, or one or the other.

Under the Arm (UA)

Using 4 or all of your fingers, tap under your arm. This spot is actually a few inches under your armpit, even with your nipple if you are a man, and about the middle of your bra strap if you are a woman.

How To Tap

BASIC TAPPING STEPS

Step One

Identify the emotion, belief, person, experience or memory that is triggering you, causing your emotions to rise, or inducing stress. Write the statement down. You will use this in the "set up statement" and in the rounds of tapping.

Step Two

Determine the SUDS (subjective unit of distress) What is the intensity of this emotion now as you think of it - on a scale of 0 – 10 with 0 not bothering you at all, and 10 being the worst ever distress or intensity. Write this number down. Also, notice where do you feel this in your body. What do you feel in your body?

Step Three

Begin the set up by tapping on the KC (karate chop point on your hand) and saying out loud, “Even though (the statement you wrote above)_________________________________, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.” OR “Even though _________________________________, I deeply and completely honor and respect myself.”

You are using the power of words in conjunction with stimulating the energy system. Affirmations are powerful tools in retraining our brains to think differently, and in this exercise also neutralizing the negative belief. You are also calming your nervous system and allowing your cognitive brain to relax and allow your unconscious or intuitive wisdom to surface.

Step Four
Do a round of tapping saying on each point, "Even though I (insert the statement you wrote down)

TH—Top of Head
EB—Eye Brow point
SE—Side of Eye point
UE—Under Eye point
UN—Under Nose point
CH—Chin point
CB—Collar Bone
UA—Under Arm

Round Two
As you tap on each point, say, “I deeply and completely love and accept myself.”
TH—Top of Head
EB—Eye Brow point
SE—Side of Eye point
UE—Under Eye point
UN—Under Nose point
CH—Chin point
CB—Collar Bone
UA—Under Arm

Round Three
As you tap on each point, say, Even though (insert your statement) _________________________________, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.”
TH—Top of Head
EB—Eye Brow point
SE—Side of Eye point
UE—Under Eye point
UN—Under Nose point
CH—Chin point
CB—Collar Bone
UA—Under Arm

Round Four
As you tap on each point, say, “I deeply and completely love and accept myself.”
TH—Top of Head
EB—Eye Brow point
SE—Side of Eye point
UE—Under Eye point
UN—Under Nose point
CH—Chin point
CB—Collar Bone
UA—Under Arm

Take a Deep Breath and Exhale deeply
Evaluate the intensity (SUDS) now from 0 - 10. How does it compare to when you started? If it is not at 0, then do another round, repeat the steps until you are feeling a 0 or 1 intensity level.

You can also tap through the points saying, expressing what thoughts you are having until you feel calmer and no reaction to your issue is present.

Please note that although you may no longer feel the original emotion, you may feel another. Often we move through levels of emotions.

Also note that although you can manage stress which is so important, and have results tapping on your own, working with a facilitator can help you move more quickly through intense emotions and experiences. I am objective and hold a safe space for you. Combining experience, intuition and training, I can help you see connections and things you might not see on your own.

I attended Cheri's group Tappy Hour. I had a bone in my right foot that would not stay in the joint. I would continually have to go to my chiropractor to have it adjusted back into its socket.  And then it would pop back out shortly after an adjustment.

Erin PlunkettAs a result of this physical challenge, I had been unable to begin to create a new habit of walking for exercise that I wanted to develop to support the weight release program I was doing.

By the end of that day’s session, the bone in my foot had slid back into its socket. And it has remained there ever since then.

As a result of this I was able to begin an exercise regime of walking daily without experiencing any pain in my right foot.  I am now up to walking +3 miles a day!!!
